 Driffield School Statement 26th January

As you are aware, Driffield School was placed in special measures in 2016 and the Education Alliance initially worked with staff to stabilise the school, addressing urgent issues such as safeguarding.  Driffield School joined the trust in February 2017 and significant progress was made in line with a detailed improvement plan.  This included securing the school’s financial future, staff recruitment and improvements in facilities.

A new improvement plan has been developed which is designed to move the school to Good and this is being implemented by the senior leadership team at Driffield with support and additional resources being provided by the trust team, and progress is being carefully monitored by the Local Governing Body.

We are pleased to announce we have recruited a new Head and he will commence after the Easter holidays.  Scott Ratheram has been the Headteacher at Cottingham High School for five years and Director of Academy Improvement within his trust. Under Scott’s leadership, Cottingham High School moved from Requires Improvement to Good. Prior to this, Scott was Headteacher of Headlands School for five years, leading the school out of special measures. Scott has a strong track record of school improvement and his vision for Driffield School is transformational.  Scott will work closely with the CEO who is currently the Executive Lead at Driffield School, alongside the school and trust leadership teams to ensure the students at Driffield School achieve the best possible results, enabling them to go on to enjoy happy and successful futures.
