2019 Exam Results

  • Basics measure has improved for the fourth year running, with 66% of our students achieving a pass in both English and maths
  • Over a quarter of students sitting maths, separate sciences, history, art and music achieved grades 7-9
  • 99.6% pass rate at A level
  • 86% of students accepted at their first-choice university

2019 Year 11 (KS4) Exam Results

  • The school’s Progress 8 score is average (-0.15)
  • The school’s Attainment 8 score is 46.2
  • The percentage of pupils who achieved a pass in English and maths at the end of KS4 is 66%
  • The percentage of pupils who achieved a strong pass (Grade 5 or above) in English and maths at the end of KS4 is 45%
  • The percentage of pupils entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) is 33%
  • The percentage of pupils who achieved a strong pass in the English Baccalaureate is 16% and 24% achieved a standard pass

  • 235 students completed Year 11 in 2018/19
  • 31% of students progressed onto Driffield School Sixth Form
  • 64% of students progressed into Further Education/college
  • 5% of students progressed into an apprenticeship

  • The school’s value-added score (0.08) is average and in the top 40% of sixth forms nationally
  • The pass rate in the sixth form is 99.6%
  • 48% A*-B grades (a 14% increase on last year)
  • 78% A*-C grades
  • One sixth of all grades were A* or A
  • Progress in Chemistry, Geography, Sociology, and Drama are in the top 10-20% nationally
  • One third of all maths were grade A* or A
  • ALPs grade 4
  • 34% of students gained a place at a Russell Group University (national average is 12%)

  • 86% of students were accepted by their first choice of university
  • 100% of medicine applicants gained entry onto a medicine course
  • 34% of students gained a place at a Russell Group university
  • 1 student was successful in their application to Cambridge University
  • 70% of the cohort applied for university
  • 96% of university applicants gained one of their university choices
  • 4% of university applicants used clearing
  • 13% of the cohort gained an apprenticeship
  • 13% of the cohort gained employment
  • 4% took a gap year
