If you have a child at Driffield School and Sixth Form or are a member of staff, then you are a member of Driffield School’s parent-teacher association: the Driffield School Association (DSA). We also welcome and encourage past parents, students and friends of the school to the DSA.
Our aims and objectives
It is important for the well-being of the students at Driffield that they have opportunities to develop, meet their potential and continue to achieve excellent standards. Supporting them to do this can sometimes require additional resources and financial help; we work in partnership with the school to this end. The DSA has three main objectives which, we hope, further the educational, social and general opportunities of all the children at Driffield School.
- Develop and extend relationships between staff, parents and others associated with Driffield School
- Engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of Driffield School’s students
- Provide and assist in funding facilities and support not available through the school’s usual resources
What the DSA does:
1. Raises money mainly through fun events including:
- Car boot and plant sales
- Christmas craft fair
- Bingo nights
- Race nights
2. Spends its money to enrich Driffield Students’ education
How do we choose what to spend the money on?
Firstly, it’s important to understand that all the money that we raise comes from the community of Driffield: it’s our job in the DSA to help make that happen.
Secondly, the way we spend the money is a direct result of applications from those within the school. The DSA Committee (which is made up from volunteer parents and staff members) meets at least once per term and, as a group, we decide how to spend our funds in ways that have the potential to benefit the whole school.
