Driffield Sixth Form offers a bursary to all students returning to us to study further education. It is means tested and students with families with an annual household income of below £30,810 are eligible to apply.
The bursary consists of a weekly payment made directly into the student’s bank account to ease the financial burden of buying course materials and resources, paying for trips and visits and buying food whilst in sixth form during the day.
If students eligible for a bursary require a bus pass they must first purchase one online from www.eastriding.gov.uk/schooltransport then bring a receipt to the Sixth Form Office as proof of purchase. We can then offer a full or partial refund of the cost of the pass depending on what level of bursary the student is eligible for.
There is also a separate bursary for any students who are:
– In receipt of income support/Employment Support Allowance
– Care leavers or are still in care
– In receipt of Disability Living Allowance
Please do not hesitate to contact Miss Bateman in the Sixth Form Office if any of the above apply and she can talk to you about this.
Application forms for the bursary are available in the Sixth Form Office.
