SEND Bulletin June 2020

Edition 9 -  Thursday 11 June 2020

Spotlight on... Family Fund provides grants to families on low incomes who have children with disabilities or severe medical conditions.

The Children and Families Minister Vicky Ford announced £10 million of funding, allocated to help families during the Covid-19 pandemic, to Family Fund. The funding will help low-income families with seriously ill or disabled children with the cost of equipment, goods or services - from washing machines and refrigerators to sensory and educational equipment that they might not otherwise be able to afford. The grants are typically worth £400 to £500 per family, but vary depending on need.

FISH update
FISH along with a lot of Council service officers are all working from home and are not in a position to process and produce discount cards (shop and save and passport to leisure) at the moment.
When the current coronavirus situation allows us to go back at County Hall and normal services have been resumed, we will promote the discount cards in the SEND Local Offer bulletin to remind you to apply for them.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
