Edition 1 - Thursday 6 February 2020

Spotlight on... East Riding SEND Local Offer
Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice 0 to 25
Local authorities must publish a Local Offer. It has two key purposes:
• To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it,
• To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disabled children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council provides information to parent carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and the practitioners who work with them, via a website, e-bulletins, newsletters and parent carer events.
Following consultation with parent carers and EYPCF, it has been decided to put this provision under the one name of East Riding SEND Local Offer.

East Riding parent carers who wish to receive this information need to register with the East Riding SEND Local Offer LOOK AHEAD service by clicking here and completing the form on the East Riding Local Offer website.

All information is available on the East Riding SEND Local Offer website should you decide not to register.

Families Information Service Hub (FISH) is reviewing how information is disseminated and would like to consult with parent carers and gather their views.
Please will you take the time to complete the survey about the content and frequency of SEND communications?
