Brave Student to Shave Head for Teenage Cancer Trust

Year 9 student Phillipa Simpson is attempting to raise £500 for the Johnson House Charity, Teenage Cancer Trust. She is going to shave her hair on the first day of the Easter holidays as a sign of solidarity with those who lose their hair as a result of cancer treatments. I'm sure you'll agree that this is a very thoughtful and brave act for a girl in Year 9!

Head of Johnson House, Mr Hunt, said “I am incredibly proud of Phillipa in going through with this! For a Year 9 student to make such a visible and brave commitment to supporting the work of the Teenage Cancer Trust is something to be truly appreciated and applauded. This whole idea has been Phillipa's and Phillipa's alone - she has a true and selfless drive to help people and attempt to support the trust in improving the lives of young people living with cancer. I'm sure that the students, staff and wider community of Driffield School & Sixth Form will get behind Phillipa and show our support for such a worthy cause”.
