Yorkshire Boys’ Under 13 Cricket Finals

On Friday 8th March 2019 the boys’ under 13 cricket team departed school at 6.45am for Headingly cricket ground in Leeds for their much anticipated Yorkshire Cup cricket final.

The team were drawn against Ryburn Valley, Meadowhead and York High in the group stages. The first match of the campaign was against Ryburn Valley and ended with a win to Driffield. They then went on to lose to Meadowhead, but beat York High to make them runners up in their group.

As runners up of group 2, the boys were placed against the group 1 winners – local rivals Headlands School. After a fantastic game, Headlands took the victory, but a great performance overall from Driffield.

Mr Nichols, PE Teacher, said “The whole team gave it their all today and I am very proud of how far they have got in the competition – well done to them all”.
