Magical Musical Performance

On Thursday 15th November, 35 members of the Big Ensemble directed by Head of Music, Mr Couper, performed in market place Driffield to raise money for their forthcoming music trip to Madrid, Spain, next year.

The students played a variety of popular music and the generosity shown from the general public and businesses was wonderful. The students performed with such professionalism and to such a high standard all day to parents, friends and people passing by. Year 13 student, Cameron McGregor, also stood by the war memorial and the students showed their respect as he played the Last Post.

The students raised a fantastic £961.79 through their music performances; and the total was made up to £1000 the following day by another generous donation.

Mr Couper said “I would like to once again express my sincere thanks to the town council, East Riding Council, for allowing the event to take place. To see the local community support our students from Driffield School in this way was simply humbling”.
