Students celebrate success...

Students celebrate a record pass rate at Driffield School and Sixth Form!

This year has seen the students at Driffield Sixth Form continue to perform incredibly well, working hard in partnership with staff to secure great outcomes. The school are rightly really proud of our students’ efforts and achievements and this year sees another wonderful set of results for students who can now move successfully into employment, apprenticeships and further study in Higher Education after a record 99.5% pass rate.

Maths results continue to be a huge strength for the school, with half of this year’s students gaining grades A* and A, with a fifth of students achieving an A*. The sciences have also achieved superb results with half of all Chemistry students securing a grade A, and 72% achieving a grade B or higher. These results were matched by the other science subjects and have enabled many of these students to move on to study maths and sciences at the highest level at the prestigious Russell Group universities. The diversity of the excellent provision at Driffield Sixth Form is highlighted with superb results across a range of other subjects. 83% of students in Geography gained a grade C or higher and Drama and Art and Design maintained their usual high standards. We are extremely pleased with the performance of the new Applied Criminology course where 42% of students achieved a grade A.

At the time of going to press most students have already gained their first choice of university with a quarter of students securing a place at one of the prestigious Russell Group universities, more than double the national average.

I am proud of the achievements of all of our students and thank them for all their hard work over the last seven years and the many contributions that they have made to the School and Sixth Form. Staff have worked hard to support and challenge them in their studies and it always brings great pleasure to see them succeed. I wish them well for the future and always remain willing to support in any way I can.”

Darren Andrews, Head of Sixth Form.

I am delighted for students and staff that their hard work over the last two years has paid off. To achieve 99.5% pass rate for the first time, with over 7 out of 10 of all grades at C or above, is an exceptional performance by our students. We wish them all the very best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Scott Ratheram, Executive Principal.
