Driffield Year 7 Cricketers v Malet Lambert School

After a mix up in the draw Driffield found themselves back in the Hull and East Yorkshire regional cup and into the semi-final!

Batting first, Malet Lambert started very brightly with the opening pair putting on 50 with the help of same wayward bowling and a hatful of extras. Driffield must look at this area if they are to progress any further. After ten overs they had 90 runs and looked for a huge total, but better fielding and tighter bowling kept the score to 144/6.

Driffield started shakily losing a wicket in the first over but sensible stroke play saw them reach 48/1 after six overs and then 120/2 after 15 overs. Needham and Greenlaw batted well to support Kelly in his 95 not out; and Brigham batted very sensibly to see the team home. Mr Duke, Head of PE, said “Well done lads!”.

We wish the Year 7 Cricketers well and continued success.
