Year 10 Boys v Ryedale: Cricket 20/20 York’s Cup

date: 2018-06-01

On a great wicket at Driffield Rec, the Year 10 boys welcomed Ryedale School in the 2nd round of the York’s Cup. After winning the toss, Captain Wilkes decided to bat and although they lost an early wicket, a stand of 153 from Wilkes and Martindale paved the way for the home team. They attacked the bowling after a steady start and finished with 78 not out and 45 not out respectively.

Ryedale made a good start, keeping up with the required eight an over for the first ten overs but then wickets fell steadily and they closed on 98/6. Mr Duke, Head of PE, said “A very promising display from the team and I am delighted that they are on to the third round”.
