Year 8 Boys Cricketers take on Headlands School

date: 2018-06-01

On a bright but very windy afternoon in Bridlington the Year 8 boys took on local rivals Headlands School.  The team was hampered by some late withdrawals, but put in a sold display with the bat reaching 53 off their 16 overs. Top scoring were Ratcliffe, Searle and Stabler with some lusty blows and well placed shots into the long outfield.

In reply Headlands started slowly and with a couple of quick wickets Driffield were putting early pressure on the home team. After a few loose shots the home opening batsman started to attack the Driffield bowling and the required total was reached with overs to spare. Mr Duke, Head of PE, said “It was disappointing for the team, but a good effort from all concerned”.
